• Added two Paintings

Finally got around to photographing two more paintings and updating my website. Setting Sun and Rocky Riverbed are the new ones. I'm working on another that's kicking my butt. Tons of detail-every inch of the canvas is detail. This will take awhile especially since I'm travelling and making Modern Warfare 3. The game is the most important art to me.

  • New Painting

Just finished another painting. This one was very challenging. I needed to make the rocks look wet and add pools of water within the rocks. Took me over a month of nights to finish. I called it "Rocky Shoreline". I was on Oahu driving around wth my family and saw some surfers coming up from what seemed like a cliff. There was a small path that lead down the cliff to a cool shoreline with these types of rocks all over it. Not a good place to swim but it was a beautiful location. Its the hard to get places that always make for the best paintings. This one is 30" x 40".

  • Retouched a painting up

Retouched up an older painting, never did that before.

  • Getting Ready for E3

Started on a new painting this week. Its going slowly, don't know why. I like the composition and the subject matter but the colors are so subtle that its almost maddening. I usually take this as a challenge but this week its just been tough. maybe I need a couple more days off from painting. Anyway, I'm also getting ready for the big gaming show called E3. Big party and concert that Activision is throwing at the Staples Center-that should be fun. Sledgehammer Games is also unveiling our new website this Tuesday so I'm taking some photos and video of E3 to put up on it. E3 is always a great time. I haven't missed one for about 15 years. Since I don't have a game out this year E3 it means I'm just a spectator. Can't wait until my next game is ready, we'll have a great E3.

  • My Latest painting

Just finished this one this week. Definitely a lot of fun creating this one. Its from a trip we took to Oahu. We were just driving around and I'm always carrying my camera. We just stopped at some random beach because I thought I saw some tide pools. Instead down the beach I saw this great little cliff with the waves crashing on it. I probably took about 40 pictures in order to get the right one to paint. I can see my style changing a little over the last five paintings or so. I think I'm getting more detailed and the colors slightly more real. Maybe its just me. Here is my latest Oahu Surf
